PUNJABI CLASS

With our first chapter in Oak Creek, we have contributed to teaching students how to read and write Gurmukhi script and how to speak conversational Punjabi. With it, we teach about our history and influential leaders to instill strong values into our youth and provides a space for them to expand their mind while learning more about Sikhism.

VOLUNTEERING

In order to uphold the values of honesty, compassion, generosity, humility, integrity, service, and spirituality, we strive to give volunteer opportunities for our members. Among the notable is the 10th Oak Creek Sikh Memorial Anniversary, as many of our members assisted where it was needed and cleaned up after.

SIKH AWARENESS DAY

To end August off with a blast, we had a booth set up at the farmer's market with information about Sikhism and the significance of turbans, as well as a chance for participants to get a free turban tied to them! We provided information about our organization, and other events we plan to host. We brought importance to the turbans, history of Sikhism, and power of unification.

KHALSA AID USA

Assisted Khalsa Aid Wisconsin in providing school supplies and backpacks to 300 children through the Peace for Change Alliance. Our volunteers had a great time and were featured on Fox 6 Milwaukee & Channel 58 news. We appreciate Khalsa Aid for allowing us to help make a significant difference together!

Sikh Speeches & Kavita

With the success of our 20 leaders who spoke about Sikhism through Kavitas and speeches on November 13th, we are working towards having a Speech Competition throughout the state of Wisconsin. The symposium will give young Sikhs the opportunity to read Sikh literature, spend time with their families talking about various topics, and then share what they've learned in front of their local sangats and judges.
